LAKE COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana State Police are investigating a shots fired call on I-80. A truck driver reported another driver fired shots at his vehicle for no apparent reason.

Just before 3 p.m., troopers responded to a call about shots fired in the eastbound lanes of I-80 at the .1 mile marker.

The truck driver who called police reported a gray car, possibly a Nissan, with Illinois license plates shot at his truck for no apparent reason.

The trooper who arrived at the scene located two bullet holes in the truck.

One of the bullets entered the cab near the driver's leg, went through the cup holder and into a can, police said.

Police retrieved the bullet.

The driver was not injured.
