SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Irish fan favorite and first round NBA draft pick LaPhonso Ellis set a school record with 200 career blocked shots, becoming the only Notre Dame player to ever lead the team in blocked shots, four straight seasons.
Ellis joined Allison Hayes on ABC57 Tipoff to discuss what it has taken for the Notre Dame men's basketball team to hit their stride at the end of the season.
Freshman guard Marcus Burton broke Ellis's Notre Dame freshman debut scoring record in his first game at Purcell Pavilion, and Ellis was in attendance.
"I've been so proud of him. Just how he's handled that. Having been a high school All-American and a McDonald All-American coming into Notre Dame I understand what that pressure is like. And for him it's added pressure because he's a local guy. I actually think he's handled it masterfully," shared Ellis.
