Indiana State Police investigating officer involved shooting in Kosciusko County

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting in Kosciusko county that involved officers from the Warsaw Police Department.
The preliminary investigation shows that on June 7 at approximately 3:35 a.m. an officer with the Warsaw Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a 2008 Chevy Silverado that led to a short pursuit. This short pursuit ended near the intersection of S.R13 and E C.R 150 North when the driver rammed into a parked Warsaw police vehicle.
The driver hit the police vehicle while the officer was exiting his vehicle. The officer was treated for the injury to his leg.
After the initial crash the driver of the Chevy drove a short distance before turning around and crashing into the same police vehicle again. The Warsaw police officer then fire one shot from his gun from his vehicle. evidence shows that the shot hit the Chevrolet but did not hit the driver or his passenger.
The driver attempted to flea again but was taken into custody by a K9 officer. The passenger in the chevy complained of pain and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital and was treated then released.
The driver was identified as 37 year old Lance Walter of Mansfield Ohio was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and attempted murder.
