SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has forecast an Air Quality Action Day for Northern Indiana Tuesday until midnight.
Officials say ozone levels are expected to be in the unhealthy for sensitive groups range in cities including Elkhart, Goshen, Knox, Logansport, Plymouth, Peru, South Bend, Warsaw, Winamac and all other cities within those areas.
IDEM says warm temperatures, partly cloudy skies, and light winds are expected as a cold front approaches the region before it stalls, which would lead to conditions suitable for ozone development when combined with other emission sources.
