Ice festival brings booming business for local Niles soda shop

NILES, Mich. -- After several days of snow, the vastly-improved weather brought in quite a crowd to the ice festival in Niles.

ABC 57 stopped in at the Paris Soda Shop on Main Street and business was booming at the ice cream parlor.

Many people stopped by to get off their feet, and enjoy a sweet treat.

"We look forward to this time of year, with the Hunter Ice Festival,” said soda shop owner Elaine Tughan. “All of us merchants benefit from this festival. As you can see every year it brings out more and more people."

The soda shop said it sold more ice cream over the special weekend, than some of their busiest weekend days.
