Howard Park prepares to kick off Winter Open Week

SOUTH BEND-- Howard Park is kicking off the skating season with its Winter Open Week starting Friday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, December 7. 

South Bend Venues, Parks & Arts created a full schedule of family-friendly activities at the Howard Park Ice Trail & Pond:

Friday, Nov. 29: Howard Holiday Market | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Saturday, Nov. 30: Howard Holiday Market | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Sunday, Dec. 1: Movies in the Park: Winter Edition | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Event Center)

Monday, Dec. 2: Cookie Decorating | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Tuesday, Dec. 3: $5 Skate | All Skating Sessions

Wednesday, Dec. 4: Howard Holiday Crafts | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Thursday, Dec. 5: Mrs. Claus is Coming to Town | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Friday, Dec. 6: Visit with Notre Dame Hockey | 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM & DJ Skate: Ugly Sweater Party with DJ Kuzzo | 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Saturday, Dec. 7: Winter Open | 9:30 AM – 9:30 PM

Winter Open Week will wrap up on December 7 with the following scheduled activities:

9:30 AM: Complimentary Donuts & Hot Cocoa (While supplies last)

9:55 AM: Welcome with Mayor James Mueller

10:00 AM: DJ Skate with Big Perm until 1:20 PM

10:00 AM: First Skate

11:30 AM: Free Face Paint until 2:30 PM

2:30 PM: Character Skate until 3:30 PM

4:00 PM: Notre Dame Glee Club Performance

4:00 PM: Cash Bar until 8:00 PM

6:00 PM: Winter Open Juggling Performance

8:00 PM: DJ Skate: Glow Skate with DJ Macmane

Activities will happen as scheduled, regardless of weather-dependent ice conditions.
