BENTON HARBOR, Mich. - During this season of giving, the ABC57 News team is shining a light on our local “holiday heroes,” Michiana charities and volunteers dedicated to helping others in need.
One of those charities, Emergency Shelter Services in Benton Harbor, is trying to raise $100,000 by Christmas so they can continue to support women and families in Berrien County.
Yavone Moffitt, 52, is one of the women who’ve benefitted from the charity’s work. With Emergency Shelter Services’ help, Moffitt was able to get back on her feet after experiencing homelessness earlier this year.
Right now, donations are down, and the organization needs help caring for their clients.
