South Bend Community Police Review Board met Thursday night
SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- High wind gusts are pushing across Michiana with winds ranging from 30 to 50 mph.
More than 1,500 people are without power in St. Joseph, Michigan. Another 300 people don’t have power in Dowagiac.
In South Bend more than 300 people are without power right now, because of the high winds!
Communications Consultant, Tracy K. Warner, with Indiana and Michigan Power, told ABC57 that people should be aware of restoration processes possibly taking longer when using their bucket trucks.
“While it’s windy that may impede the restoration effort,” said Warner. We use those a lot to get to the line to the top of polls, transformers, and other equipment.”
Warner also warns of trees falling later after the winds calm down and said people should be careful as they’re moving about.
Warner said customers shouldn’t touch any downed power lines and are advised to call I&M if that happens.
For power outages and damages customers can call 800-311-4634 for Indiana and 800-311-6424 for Michigan.
Outages can also be checked on their website at IndianaMichiganPower.com/Outages.
