Grass fire burns in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A grass fire spread quickly in a neighborhood field in Elkhart County on Monday evening.

The fire burned near the intersection of Emerald Chase Lane and Jade Court in Jefferson Township.

Officials were dispatched to the scene at 6:07 p.m. and they were able to get the flames under control.

No structural damage or injuries were reported and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
