Blossomtime Parade closes St. Joseph's streets Saturday

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. -- With the 2026 Blossomtime Festival Grand Foral Parade coming to St. Joseph and Benton Harbor on Saturday, roads and bridges throughout St. Joseph are planned to be closed during and before the parade.

According to the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety, road closures in the city, including the use of Bicentennial Bridge, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday before the parade starts at 1 p.m. The resulting road detours are expected to end alongside the parade around 3:30 p.m. The bridge is then planned to reopen around 4 p.m.

If you're driving into St. Joseph from the north, you'll be detoured west onto Port Street and then south onto Lake Boulevard. From there, if you want to keep heading south on M-63, turn east onto Jones Street. Alternatively, stay on Lake Boulevard if you want BL-94.

If you're driving into St. Joseph from the south, you'll be detoured west onto Jones Street and follow the above route in reverse.

Blankets and chairs are not allowed on the parade route until 6 a.m. Saturday morning and will be removed if found before that time.

Between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. and the end of the parade Saturday, no parking on the following public streets:

  • 500 through the 1000 blocks of State Street
  • 500 and 600 blocks of Market, Pearl, Park, Price and Jones Streets
  • 700 through the 1000 blocks of Court Street
  • 700 and 800 blocks of Park, Price, Jones and Hoyt Street
  • 1000 block of Church Street
  • 700 through the 1100 blocks of Pearl Street
