Governor Holcomb waives incomplete education requirements for schools

INDIANAPOLIS— Governor Eric Holcomb on Friday signed an executive order to waive education requirements that cannot be met due to school buildings being closed to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

Incomplete requirements such as school bus drills and emergency preparedness drills are waived under the executive order.

Requirements for vision and hearings tests have also been suspended.

New teachers will now have until September 30, 2020 to complete CPR training under the order.

The executive order also outlines options for school districts to complete the 2019-2020 annual staff performance evaluations.
