Goshen residents encouraged to fill out growth plan survey

GOSHEN, Ind. - The City of Goshen is encouraging residents to fill out a survey that will inform officials on how to approach development in the area.

City officials are in the process of creating a growth plan that will give them, residents, and developers a tool to refer to when making decisions on what developments in the city should look like.

The survey, which launched on August 5, is the first of a number of strategies the city is using to collect community opinions.

The city will also host listening session and focus groups to hear from residents.

“Goshen continues to thrive as a community people are choosing to live in, work in, and visit,” Deputy Mayor Mark Brinson said. “This plan will help guide future growth in a smart and intentional way. It is critical that we carefully manage future growth to preserve the high quality of life we enjoy.”

The first of the listening sessions will be held at 5:30 p.m. on August 16.

The city will host four listening sessions total:

  • August 16 at 5:30 p.m. at Rieth Interpretive Center, 410 W. Plymouth Ave.
  • August 17 at 8 a.m. in Schrock Pavilion at Shanklin Park, 411 W. Plymouth Ave.
  • August 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the St. John Church gym, 109 W. Monroe St.
  • August 23 at 5:30 p.m. at Schrock Pavilion at Shanklin Park, 411 W. Plymouth Ave.
