GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Goshen City Council is amending its Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) ordinance after concerns were raised by residents about safety and community impact.
During Monday evenings meeting, council members discussed updates aimed at better defining how DORA operates.
Proposed changes include clearer guidelines on how the area will handle children, expectations for police presence, and rules for local businesses choosing to participate.
Despite differing opinions, city leaders say they are committed to refining the ordinance in a way that reflects community feedback while supporting local development.
The council is expected to continue discussions and consider final approval of the amendments in the coming weeks.
