From the court to the kitchen, former Notre Dame Women's Basketball player releases cookbook
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Former Notre Dame Women's Basketball player, Courtney Lavere Hobson, is now an author.
Hobson just released a cookbook full of "slam dunk recipes" for even the pickiest of eaters.
ABC57 Tipoff host, Allison Hayes, had a chance to talk one-on-one with Hobson about her new book.
Hobson played for the Notre Dame Women's Basketball team from 2002 to 2006.
The 6'3 forward averaged 9 points and nearly five rebounds per game.
After she graduated Hobson worked for Notre Dame Development before eventually moving to California with her husband and two children.
And now she can add "author" to her resume with her new cookbook "Home Court Cooking."
Hobson says she wrote the book because of her love for cooking and her family.
Hobson was involved in every aspect of the process, from developing recipes to taking pictures of the food.
She also called upon her former coach, Muffet McGraw, to write the forward for the book.
Hobson stated, "She's always just been a real big proponent of women and following your dreams and, and not letting anything hold you back. And I think this is a really good aspect of that, because it was not something that was on my radar. And it was a dream I had. And so, I asked Coach McGraw to write my forward because she's just been such a big part of my life."
"Home Court Cooking" is available online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Walmart.
Hobson says her goal is to get it into the Notre Dame Bookstore and hold a book signing this fall.
Hobson will also join us on ABC57 Tipoff to cook some of her favorite recipes.
