Free regional ski competition coming to Warsaw

WARSAW, Ind. -- Local non-profit, The Lake City Skiers, will host the Central Regional Tournament on Saturday, July 13, and Sunday, July 14, on Hidden Lake in Warsaw.

The tournament will start on that Saturday at 8 a.m., with the individual competition.

The team competition, meaning Swivel ski, Strap Doubles, Team Jump, and Freestyle Jump, will begin following the individual competition.

Organizers say there will be seven teams from five states that will compete to earn a spot at the Division I Nationals Tournament in August.

Three teams will compete on Saturday and four teams on Sunday.

Each team will perform a one-hour show.

The competition is free to the public and in addition to a concession stand, there will be several vendors, including Kona Ice, Tacos Los Gordos, and SNC Facepainting.

You can bring your own lawn chair or there is bleacher seating available.

A souvenir shop will be open with Lake City Skiers gear available for purchase.

There will also be a t-shirt vendor for tournament t-shirts.

Hidden Lake is located on the southwest corner of U.S. 30 and Indiana 15 behind Smith Tire.
