LAKEVILLE, Ind. -- Today marks the start of “Heart Health Month” dedicated to getting in tune with this most vital organ in our bodies! To kick it off, organizations across the country offered free heart screenings for children and young adults, including right here in Michiana.
The Zac Mago Foundation and Newton Park in Lakeville teamed up as one of the 22 sites nationwide to host the free screenings, which included a simple electrocardiogram or ECG and CPR training was also offered.
Teresa Mago, the founder of the Zac Mago Foundation emphasizes the importance of early detection as she lost her own son to sudden cardiac arrest.
