Free gardening presentation: "Saving Nature in Your Yard"
Eventbrite LA PORTE, Ind. -- The La Porte County Master Gardener Association is proud to host renowned author and speaker Dr. Doug Tallamy for a free presentation from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (CDT) on March 28, at the Civic Auditorium, 1001 Ridge Street, La Porte, Indiana.
Dr. Tallamy is an entomologist, conservationist, and professor at the University of Delaware, whose work has transformed the understanding of the relationship between native plants and wildlife. He will present “Saving Nature in Your Yard,” an inspiring and practical talk about how individuals can play a crucial role in restoring biodiversity and supporting wildlife—right at home.
Doors will open at 9:00 a.m., giving attendees the opportunity to explore 17 informational tables featuring representatives from a wide range of groups, businesses, and organizations dedicated to education and community engagement. While there will be no sales, guests can connect directly with experts and advocates from Master Gardener Associations, native plant sources, consultation/design/restoration professionals, native plant societies, local government entities, environmental organizations, and botanic gardens. In addition, the first 750 attendees will receive complimentary gift bags generously provided by the La Porte County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
