Free Family Day Workshop at Lubeznik Center for the Arts
MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. - The Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) is hosting a free Family Day Workshop on Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. central time.
Organizers invite families to spend time in the art galleries with educational staff and enjoy snacks while making art.
Attendees can participate in a workshop with the Chicago ACT Collective, a group of artists, musicians, writers, scholars, and educators.
ACT will hold a free poetry and visual art workshop.
Participants will write down responses to a series of writing prompts. Each prompt will relate to the current LCA exhibition, Stitched, Woven and Hooked, as well as prompts related to the Northwest Indiana community.
Individuals can then take these prompts and screen print words with them to create a poem or piece of artwork with a new meaning.
This workshop is open to all ages and artworks produced will be for participants to keep.
Organizers say snacks will be provided.
The event is free for all, but organizers ask that you register by emailing [email protected], or call (219) 874-4900.
You can view the official Facebook event page for further details and updates.
