Francesville man killed in crash on US 421

PULASKI COUNTY, Ind.—A 48-year-old Francesville man died in a crash on U.S. 421 on October 1, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 9:50 a.m., the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on U.S. Highway 421, north of C.R. 200 South on October 1.

The crash resulted in the death of Franklin Clemons, 48, of Francesville.

During an initial investigation, a deputy learned that a 37-year-old Winamac man was driving a 2008 Kenworth gravel truck when the 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Clemons drifted over the center line and collided head on with the gravel truck.

Clemons was pronounced deceased at the scene. His cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma, according to the coroner’s office.

The gravel truck driver was treated for his injuries and released.

U.S. 421 was closed for about six hours while crews investigated the crash.
