Fourth-generation South Bend Police Officer sworn in

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - It was a special moment for the Ruszkowski family as Ashton Ruszkowski was sworn into the South Bend Police Department, continuing the family's legacy.

Officer Ruszkowski is a fourth-generation South Bend Police Officer and had the honor of being pinned Wednesday morning by his father and grandfather, who both served the South Bend Police Department.

Officer Ruszkowski, nephew of Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski, joins SBPD as a lateral transfer from the Indiana University Police Department.
