Five arrested on drug charges, warrants, and more in Berrien County

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Southwest Enforcement Team announced its detectives with assistance from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety, and Michigan State Police K9 Unit, executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Thresher Avenue on Monday.

Authorities say the main suspect, awaiting trial from a September 2024 SWET drug case, was among the five individuals arrested regarding this drug investigation.

Police say a 44-year-old Benton Harbor mam was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Ammunition as a Prohibited Person, Maintaining a Drug House, and Bond Violation. 

A 44-year-old Buchanan man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession of Methamphetamine, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property Over $1,000, Felony Probation Violation, Maintaining a Drug House (Camper), and Possession of a Firearm During a Felony. 

A 40-year-old transient woman was arrested for Felony Uttering and Publishing Warrant (Bangor Police Department), Extraditable Vehicle Theft Warrant (Valparaiso, Ind.), and Possession of Cocaine Warrant (St. Joseph County, Ind.). 

A 22-year-old Niles woman was arrested for an Aggravated Assault Warrant (Benton Township Police Department), while a 29-year-old Berrien Springs woman was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.

Authorities have not released the identities of the suspects.
