Firefighters respond to house fire early Thursday morning

South Bend Firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire around 1 AM Thursday morning just after the storms hit South Bend.
Crews put out flames in the basement of a home on the 1200 block of E South Street.
Officials say no one was injured and got out of the house safely.
The fire cause smoke damage through out the entire home and damaged the basement.
Fire officials do not know the cause of the fire at this time.
