Firefighter injured on scene of Olive Street house fire

SOUTH BEND, Ind.—One firefighter was injured while putting out a fire on Olive Street on Monday.

Firefighters were sent to a residence in the 1200 block of N. Olive Street around 9:46 p.m. Monday for reports of a house fire.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire.

One firefighter sustained injuries on scene and has been since treated and released from the hospital.

Investigators determined that the fire started in the basement.

The fire remains under investigation.
