Cheers Bar and Grill liquor license renewed following controversy
SOUTH BEND, Ind.—A local restaurant hosted a party on Sunday to watch the U.S. Women’s National Team compete in the World Cup.
Fiddler’s Hearth had the game on every TV and fans packed in to watch the World Cup final with a wish that the sport got more attention in the Michiana area.
“Soccer is also not as supported as I would like in this area or in the nation for that matter but we’re working hard to get that started and we’ve got a good core group that is very passionate about soccer,” said Paul Ullrich, a fan attending the watch party.
The USWNT beat the Netherlands 2-0 Sunday night in Lyon, France thanks to goals from forward Megan Rapinoe and midfielder Rose Lavelle.
