Failure to yield causes two-vehicle crash, one sent to hospital
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash, which occurred on Friday, June 28, at 1:34 p.m., near U.S. Highway 33 and C.R. 13., .75 miles south of Elkhart city limits.
The report states a 2018 Ram Pro Master, driven by 30-year-old Robert Cullins of Goshen, was traveling northwest on U.S. Highway 33, southeast of C.R. 13.
A 2017 Honda CRV, driven by 87-year-old Jane England of Elkhart, was traveling south on C.R. 13, north of U.S. Highway 33.
England failed to yield the right of way, turning left to go southeast on U.S. Highway 33, into the path of Cullins.
England was then struck by Cullins.
England's Honda sustained driver's side damage, while Cullins' van received front-end damage.
England was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for a complaint of neck pain.
Cullins was also wearing his seatbelt at the time of crash.
No citations were given.
