ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team has been called to investigate a crash near North Liberty.
Police were called to the two-vehicle crash involving injuries at 10:07 a.m. on Monday at State Road 23 and New Road.
Initial investigation findings show that a blue Chrysler Town and Country minivan was traveling northbound on State Road 23 with the right of way when a maroon F-150 pick up was traveling eastbound on New Road, FACT said.
A collision occurred between the two vehicles in the middle of the intersection, police said.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital and admitted.
The driver of the F-150 was identified as a 25-year-old Walkerton man.
The driver of the minivan was identified as a 30-year-old Walkerton woman. She is being treated for life-threatening injuries, FACT said.
A three-year-old child was a passenger in the minivan at the time of the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by FACT.
