The heatwave is here, with a Heat Advisory through today, and an Extreme Heat Watch issued for our area from Sunday until Tuesday. While conditions may be mild stepping out the door, temperatures soar into the 90s in the early afternoon and stay there until sunset. This pattern continues through Monday, continually getting slightly hotter each day, with breezy conditions as well. Heat index values are expected to reach into the 100s easily over the next three days. Overnight lows approach the high 70s, quick reminder that the average high for this time of the year is in the low 80s. Make sure you are drinking water and avoiding the heat as much as possible. In the middle of the week, conditions do cool slightly with thunderstorm chances becoming more prevalent into next weekend.
Today: Hot, breezy, Heat Index ~100 degrees. High 94.
Tonight: Unnaturally hot. Low 78.
Sunday: Hot, breezy, Heat Index 100+. High 95.
Monday: Hot, breezy, Heat Index 100+. High 96.
