Elkhart Police to host community dialogue on social justice

ELKHART, Ind.—The Elkhart Police Department is a hosting a community event to discuss what steps are being taken to improve racial relations in the city.

The community dialogue is planned for September 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, located at 405 W. Beardsley Avenue.

A panel including Mayor Rod Roberson and Police Chief Kris Seymore will discuss social justice issues.

The police department will share what training has been implemented, what appointments have been made and what the city will focus on in the future.

Face masks will be required for the event and social distancing will be in place.
