Elkhart Police investigating dead bodies found near Cassopolis Street and Sunset Avenue

ELKHART, Ind. -- Police are investigating two dead bodies found in an alley behind the Papa Johns on the corner of Cassopolis Street and Sunset Avenue in Elkhart.

Officers got to the scene around 10:15 a.m. and confirmed the bodies to be one male and one female. 

Investigators are working to identify the bodies and determine the cause of death. 

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
