Elkhart man sentenced to 15 years in prison for dealing meth
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday, that 40-year-old Marcus Harris, of Elkhart, was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to distribution of methamphetamine.
Authorities say Harris distributed methamphetamine on several occasions between December 2022 and May 2023.
"On one occasion, Harris and co-defendant Stephen Johnson sold approximately one pound of methamphetamine," The U.S. District Attorney's Office said. "At the time of their arrest in May 2023, Harris and Johnson brought more than three kilograms of methamphetamine and 250 grams of heroin to a deal planning to trade for ten kilograms of cocaine."
Harris' co-defendant, Stephen Johnson, was sentenced in February to 24 years in prison and 5 years of supervised release.
