Elkhart man accused of stabbing another man in Michigan

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- An Elkhart man has been arrested in a stabbing that happened Monday evening in Paw Paw, Michigan, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to the 68000 block of 39th Street around 8:45 p.m. for reports of a man who had been stabbed.

The 37-year-old male victim drove himself to the hospital in Paw Paw and then was transported to a Kalamazoo hospital.

He was stabbed several times in the abdomen, but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening, reports said.

The suspect was found hiding in a nearby barn and was taken into custody.

The 26-year-old male suspect from Elkhart is awaiting arraignment on felony charges.
