Elkhart couple face felony drug charges following ISP investigation

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police are reporting an Elkhart couple has been arrested following an investigation into the dealing of fentanyl.

The couple, identified as 44-year-old Robert Horton II and 45-year-old Jacques Horton, were taken into custody Monday.

Police say the investigation began in early January following a complaint from a concerned citizen.

Investigators ultimately obtained a search warrant for a home in the 53000 block of Hickory Lane in Elkhart.

Authorities executed the warrant on Sunday, which police say led to the discovery of 44 grams of suspected fentanyl, a handgun, and a fentanyl press.

Robert was arrested for Dealing in a Narcotic drug, a Level 2 Felony, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 3 Felony, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 Felony. 

Jacques was arrested for Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 3 Felony, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 Felony. 

The couple were taken to the Elkhart County Jail.
