Elkhart County two vehicle crash leaves multiple people injured

ELKHART, Ind. -- At approximately 2:32 p.m. the Elkhart County Sherrif's Office responded to a crash at the intersection of CR 38 and 17.

The driver of a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling east on CR 38 approaching CR 17, when they disregarded a red light entering the intersection, colliding their vehicle into the rear driver side of a 2020 Jeep Wrangler.

The Jeep Wrangler was pushed into a traffic light pole then down an embankment. The driver and their passengers were transported to Goshen Hospital.

The driver of the Dodge Grand Caravan was transported to Memorial Hospital, with their passengers transported to Elkhart General Hospital.

It was noted the driver of the Dodge Grand Caravan was driving without a seatbelt and operating a vehicle without financial responsibility.
