Deputies realease results of Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – Between mid-August through to Labor Day weekend, law enforcement officials took part in the 2020 national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over initiative. In conjunction with normal patrols, additional officers from the Elkhart County Traffic Safety Partnership conducted high-visibility efforts designated to identify and intercept those driving under the influence.

Increased state and national messages about the dangers of driving impaired, enforcement and increased officers on the road, aim to reduce drunk driving.   

During this time, the officers’ efforts provided the following results:

  • Operating while intoxicated: 3
  • Criminal misdemeanors: 2
  • Total number of tickets and warnings issued: 35
