Elkhart County Miracle pauses season over venue issues
Elkhart County Miracle ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The fourth season of independent minor league baseball for the Elkhart County Miracle may not go forward.
The team announced on its website that its 2026 season is now unlikely to happen. Miracle officials say this is due to the city of Whiting not renewing a stadium lease agreement it had with the independent minor league baseball organization Northern League. They say this is despite 15 years of the league playing in the city. According to a press release posted on the Miracle's website, the lease termination leaves the league without space to host many of its road games.
Thus far, the city of Whiting has not commented on the situation.
The Miracle franchise joined the Northern League in 2023 and won the league's championship in 2024.
