ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The new Elkhart County Courthouse is going to a series of tours for the official opening this fall. 

The tours offer residents and members of the media a first look at the facility before it become fully operational. 

The guided tours will run from Aug. 4 to Aug. 8 during the following hours:  

• Monday: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. 
• Tuesday: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 
• Wednesday: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m 
• Thursday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 
• Friday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Each tour will last approximately 60 minutes and tours will begin every 30 minutes. 

Tours will not include every floor or office space but will highlight key behind-the-scenes operational areas. 

To maintain safety and quality, tours are limited to 30 participants and larger groups will be asked to divide and attend the next available tour time. 

All group members must arrive together and groups exceeding 10 participants should email [email protected]. 

No food or drink is permitted inside the courthouse. 

Lunch accommodations are not available for civic groups and all tours are ADA accessible.
