South Bend High School Music Festival highlights student talent
ELKHART, Ind. – The Minority Health Coalition in Elkhart distributed more than five thousand face masks for free on Friday to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
The giveaway was part of the Elkhart County Health Department’s COVID-19 pandemic initiative.
Masks were handed out at three different locations Friday afternoon.
“We look at Elkhart County – especially the city of Elkhart – and right now we are in a position of being a hotspot, so we want to make sure we get the education, awareness and masks out to as many as possible so that we can help them understand the importance of protecting themselves against others and others against them,” Tara Morris said, the Executive Director of the Health Minority Coalition.
The locations where masks were handed out include the Perfect Touch Barber Shop, Walmart and the Marathon gas station on Main Street.
