Toll Road back open after day of winter weather chaos
Lake effect snow will persist through the afternoon, tapering off evening. Minor travel impacts are possible during the evening commute. There could be a few slick spots on the road. Snow accumulation will be higher near the state line, decreasing farther south into Michiana. Overnight, temperatures will drop into the teens. The weekend is expected to be quiet but cold, with highs in the 20s.
Snow showers return late Sunday night into Monday. While the heaviest snow will likely stay south of Michiana, it will be more concentrated along the I-70 corridor. Travel impacts are expected to increase, especially in central Indiana. We’ll continue to monitor and update this forecast in the coming days. Cold conditions are expected to persist into next week, with chances of lake effect snow returning.
