Marshall County Jail

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- A Starke County man will serve time for shooting a victim several times with a BB gun.

Edwin Barker of Grovertown was sentenced to nine years for felony Aggravated Battery. He pleaded guilty to the charge.

The investigation began in January 2026. Officials say the victim was helped by a neighbor to the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. The victim had suffered severe injuries; officials say several BBs were lodged under their skin and in their head, including one that hit their right eye.

Officials say Barker left the victim's home in the victim's vehicle. He was eventually located and arrested.

The nine year sentence was the maximum allowed by the plea deal.
