Drones locate suspect following police pursuit, two arrested

MEDARYVILLE, Ind. -- The Medaryville Police Department reports on Oct. 3, a deputy witnessed a woman acting suspiciously in the passenger's seat of a car at a Family Express gas station.
A BMV check on the car revealed it was registered to a wanted man, identified as Donald Lyons.
Lyons provided a false name when speaking to the deputy.
The duo fled in the vehicle once the deputy ordered them to get out of the car.
Authorities then initiated pursuit and continued through county roads in the southwest portion of Pulaski County. P
Other members of Pulaski County law enforcement joined the chase, including a K9 deouty with his K9 partner Tiko.
Shortly after, the vehicle left the roadway on 700 South, east of US 421.
The driver ignored several commands to stop, at which point K9 Tiko was deployed and successfully apprehended Lyons.
Police later determined the passenger, identified as Annessa Goodman, had been dropped off during the pursuit while a deputy was temporarily blinded by heavy gravel dust.
Drone units from the Medaryville Police Department, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, and Jasper County Sheriff’s Office were deployed to canvas the area.
A drone eventually located Goodman lying in a cornfield, attempting to conceal herself.
Deputies and K9 Tiko assisted in preventing her escape. Both suspects were safely taken into custody.
Lyons is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, a Level 5 Felony, Possession of Cocaine, a Level 5 Felony, Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class B Misdemeanor, and False Informing, a Class B Misdemeanor
Goodman is charged with Possession of Cocaine, a Level 5 Felony, Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor.
