Driver killed in fiery crash on CR 375

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. – A driver was killed when their SUV struck a tree and caught fire early Sunday morning on CR 375, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 25000 block of CR 375 around 1:15 a.m. Sunday for a single vehicle crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed the SUV was traveling westbound on CR 375 when it left the roadway and struck a tree. It then caught fire, deputies said.

Mattawan Fire also responded to the scene.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
