Driver injured after losing control at roundabout

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash near the roundabout at U.S. 12 and Five Points Road in Mason Township around 11:17 p.m., Thursday.

Authorities' investigation shows a pickup truck, driven by 27-year-old Jose Cisneros of Elkhart, was traveling west on U.S. 12 when he lost control and hit the roundabout.

Cisneros' truck came to a rest on U.S. 12 just west of the roundabout.

He was then taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained from the crash.

Deputies say it's unknown if a seatbelt was worn at the time of the crash.

Authorities say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
