ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Rough weather caused multiple traffic issues overnight on Thursday, but one Elkhart man is uninjured after his truck slid off the road in the early morning hours of Dec. 5.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports that around 1:50 a.m., a 1997 Ford Ranger driven by 27-year-old Tyler Hickman of Elkhart was going east on State Line Road, coming up on the intersection of Tharp Lake Road when the truck slid on ice and snow, and ran off the road to the south.
The truck collided head on with a tree and sustained heavy front-end damage.
Hickman was transported, via ambulance, to Elkhart General Hospital for complaint of pain in his chest. He showed no signs of impairment but was cited for no valid operator's license.
