Downtown Sturgis businesses damaged by vandal, suspect arrested

Sturgis Police arrested a suspect who allegedly broke glass windows and doors to downtown businesses Saturday morning.

Police received a call around 8:30 a.m. about someone breaking glass in the storefronts of several businesses downtown.

Sturgis police responded and took a suspect into custody shortly after the original call, reports said.

The damaged businesses include Bofa, Carmen's Salon and Wings Etc on Chicago Road.

The door to the Secretary of State office on Centerville Road was also damaged.

Police said the suspect is facing several charges. Their name has not been released.
