Domestic assault call turns into police standoff

STURGIS, Mich. -- The Sturgis Police Department reports officers responded to a domestic assault call around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of W. Jerolene Street.

The report states the incident turned into a barricaded gunman situation.

The suspect was able to flee the scene before officers were able to establish a perimeter, but was later arrested in the 200 block of W. Main Street without incident.

The man faces several felony charges and was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
