ST JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- There was a little more heave hoe action on the Saint Joseph River Sunday.
Saint Patrick County Parks held beginner canoe and kayak lessons.
On the agenda...safety, paddling strokes, and even tips for getting in and out those rowboats.
Instructors tell us learning something new is always a blast.
"One of the most enjoyable parts of it is seeing families get out here, introducing the kids to canoeing. Most of them enjoy it, every once in awhile you get a frustrated kid, but they have a good time," said instructor Ted Beatty.
This is perfect timing to get some tips before the 2012 Paddlefest.
It's Sunday June 24th.
