LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to C.R. 300 E just south of S.R. 4 around 2:51 a.m. Tuesday for a crash.

Authorities' initial investigation determined a 2019 Ford, driven by 22-year-old Macayla R. Boone of La Porte, was traveling south on C.R. 300 E.

Deputies say she then traveled left of center, off the east side of the roadway, and crashed into two tree stumps.

Boone was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say toxicology test results are pending and no further information is available.
