Delays on SSL trains expected due to wire damage
South Shore Line officials report due to previous wire damage near Gary Chicago Airport, passengers should expect delays as crews make repairs.
SSL officials report the issue began with Train #133 being stopped at East Chicago Saturday morning just after midnight, due to overhead wire damage just west of Clark Road.
Buses were used to transport passengers from East Chicago to their stations.
Due to severe wire damage, trains experienced extensive delays, including Train #30 being four hours late and passengers are being transferred to another train, Train #601 departing Millennium Station 45 to 60 minutes late, Train #133 being three hours late with passengers given alternate transportation, and Train #135 being cancelled.
