'Deck Your Bike' for Nappanee 4th of July parade

NAPPANEE, Ind. -- The City of Nappanee is celebrating its 150th anniversary by having 150 decorated bikes in the Independence Day parade.

Residents are invited to the Nappanee Public Library parking lot on Wednesday, July 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. to "Deck Your Bike" for the parade.

City officials ask you to bring your bike and flex your creative muscle using provided decorations or by bringing your own.

Organizers say come for the fun and stay for the treats with ice cream from Sweet G’s.

The check-in for the parade is at Nappanee Elementary on Thursday, July 4, at 10:30 a.m.

Judging will happen at 10:40 a.m., and prizes will be awarded to the most creative bikes in three age groups, including ages four to six, seven to nine, and 10 to 12.

The parade starts at 11 a.m.
