PHM updates parents, staff on ransomware attack
MISHAWAKA, Ind.- Penn and Mishawaka High Schools will go head-to-head in the so-called "Backyard Brawl" for the first time since 2019.
“I’d say we’re pretty excited and the team is pretty confident. Every game is a challenge, no games are handed out. Today is going to be a dog fight on both sides of the ball, offense and defense; very run heavy offense for them. And we’ve been preparing a lot, and we feel very confident,” said Patrick DeKever, senior offensive lineman at Penn High School.
Dr. Jerry Thacker, Superintendent of PHM schools explains that the return is due to Mishawaka changing conference schedules.
“Fortunately, we were able to return because the backyard brawl is the most exciting game in Northern Indiana. Probably the most exciting game of the state tonight,” said Dr. Jerry Thacker.
A total of eight to ten thousand fans are expected to be in attendance Friday.
“We welcome anyone to come out and enjoy the food, the refreshments and enjoy the fellowship,” said Dr. Jerry Thacker.
